Laundry and diswashing machines
Some of the flats have a ready place and the required electrical and water connections for a laundry machine. If yours does not, contact maintenance to find out if it is possible to install a laundry machine or dishwasher in your flat. The tenant is responsible for the costs of installing these machines. The connection of a washing machine into the water distribution system must be done according to the official specifications and can be done by a professional only. You can order the installation job from a plumbing shop or Elli maintenance. If the washing machine is installed incorrectly, the tenant will be responsible for the water damage it may cause.
The dishwashing machine must be installed in such a way that no kitchen furniture is broken. If you need to dismantle any furniture, store it in the storage closet of your flat and reinstall it when you move out. You must place a separate plastic tray under the dishwashing machine in case it leaks. When you move out and remove the machine, carefully plug the water pipes used to connect it so as to prevent leaks. Any permanently installed electrical and water fixtures will stay in the flat.
Do not leave a laundry machine or a dishwasher running without supervision. Always shut the taps of washing machines when they are not in use. Make sure that the taps are shut when you leave the flat.
A laundry machine placed in the bathroom must not be used during a bath or shower. Never leave the wall plug in the socket when the machine is not in use. Check the washing machines and their connecting hoses periodically for leaks.
